Letter to my fears

I bet you didn’t think I would become the person I became, huh?

I bet you didn’t think I would make it to the age of 21 with a good job and good credit.

I bet you didn’t think that I would be able to say I still have big dreams.

I bet you thought that I would be married with children at this point.

I bet you thought that I would become the exact person that the outside world expected.

I bet you thought I’d end up like the rest of my friends.

I bet you thought that you would’ve never grown that beard.

I bet you thought that girl would have been the one for you.

I bet you didn’t think that you’d be settling down with the girl that’s better than your dreams.

I bet you didn’t think that you would have never made it out of minimum wage.

I bet you thought your parents would’ve never stayed together.

I bet you thought you’d never make it to New York City.

I bet you never thought you’d make it to the Eiffel Tower.

I bet you never thought you’d be okay with a stay at home orders.

I bet you never thought you’d make it without your friends.

I bet you never thought that you’d become who you were without your big cousin.

I bet you thought you couldn’t fix your dad’s residency status.

I bet you thought you couldn’t get that manager job.

I bet you thought you’d never be the envy of a few of your friends.

I bet you thought you’d be asking for more help than you give out.

I bet you never thought that you’d have your siblings as some of your best travel buddies.

I bet you never thought you’d be able to say you jumped off of a perfectly good airplane.

I bet you never thought you’d try and negotiate your salary.

I bet you never thought you’d be the one some of your homies go-to for some wisdom.

I bet you never thought you’d ever pay that car off.

I bet you never thought you’d be traveling off of those air miles.

I bet you never thought you’d get that Gold AMEX.

I bet you never thought you’d make it over a month writing consistently.

I bet you never thought you’d be a few steps away from taking that significant risk.

I bet you never thought the day would come that you’d have pictures you took as wallpapers on your computer.

I bet you never thought you’d be able to run a half marathon.

I bet you never thought you’d meet your senator in Washington, D.C.

I bet you never thought you’d convince Harry Reid to vote on a bill to electrify Africa.

I bet you never thought you’d get flown to NYC just to receive an award for the work you did.

I bet you never thought you’d be able to finish that full marathon.

I bet the day you look back on this again, you’ll have even more to bet.

I bet you never thought you’d be flexing on your fears in a blog post.

Just remember that it’s not over, and I’m still not done.
