Magic
I wonder when I stopped believing in the hocus pocus, Abra Kadabra stuff.
Maybe it was when the “quarter behind my ear” trick stopped being the most impressive thing.
Maybe it was when I felt the magic on your lips and the way your eyes could hypnotize me into anything.
Imagine that.
I was the silly 8-year-old kid waiting to see what else you’d do to top that. Yet, I was always amazed at how you did the first trick as good the 100th time. You could’ve put me under a spell forever.
But that’s not how it worked, and the magic somehow wore off. And I can’t remember for the life of me the last magic trick that’s amazed me as much as yours.
So now I stopped believing in magic.
