But it’s my job to cheer you up.

I don’t need anything in return, as frustrating and disheartening as it could get.
But because it’s my job, I need you to stop getting in the way of doing it.
As you may already know, I take my job very seriously. Regardless of which one I’m talking about.
I’ll do whatever it takes to be the best at it. Maybe the numbers won’t always show it, but you could feel whatever it is.
I’d be the most dependable.
Do you need this done? I need to dot a couple of Is and cross a couple of Ts.

I don’t need your stamp of approval, so your saying no wouldn’t exactly matter.
