We are not the same.
I’d buy you flowers to remind you that you deserve to have them blooming at any point.
I’d take you to chase sunrises and sunsets so I could stare at my two favorite things in the world. Because watching the sun hit your face as it starts to peak would be more important than a morning cup of coffee.
I’d take you to my favorite parts of the city because you’re the only person I would love to talk to about life plans and failures; what’s more vulnerable than talking about those? I know you’d tell me that it was just a phase, and that’s what everyone always says, but when I hear you say it, I believe it just a little more.
I would spend hours with you just people-watching. You’d get to hear me narrate what next phase the couple a booth down is on. Whether they’re talking about kids and where their kids will go to school.
I’d give you my extra headphone so you can hear my favorite parts of songs along the way. Just because that’s an extension of my body, and that means more to me than the world.
I mean no disrespect by telling you these things; I think it’s time I’d plead my case.
We are not the same.
