The Exception

Maybe God ruined the plan because He did not want to ruin him.

That’s a pretty grown-up thing for him to consider. Sometimes, plans have fallen apart, and in some of those cases, he can feel the desperation kicking in. It’s normal, but isn’t it normal for everyone? Why should he be the exception, right?

In his head, I think he was always different as early as he can remember. He believed that the best of things could happen to him. He believed that if anybody could do the impossible, it was him. He would watch tv, and not in a hater way, but he’d look at someone and say, I’m sure I could do that. I’m not talking about the physically impossible. I’m talking about the good personalities of people. He just wanted to be a good person. He wanted to be known for all the good things he did. He even shared a birthday with one of the most famous leaders who always talked about peace and looking out for others. He thought it was as big a sign as it could be. He was just another chosen one.

He didn’t understand that what was going to follow was a ton of resentment for not doing enough earlier. That feeling would follow him for his entire life until now. Now it was different. He wouldn’t look back and wonder what the fuck might have happened if he turned left instead of turning right, metaphorically. He was only focused on what turning right taught him. He was as much of a warrior as you would ever come across, and the only sad part in hindsight was how much time he wasted thinking about what he could’ve done better instead of what he could do now.

So yea, I guess God never really ruins your plans from the get-go. He reminds you that he always has better projects lined up for you. Sometimes you may not even be dreaming as big as you can, and you’ve been selling yourself short. I guess now is a better time than ever for him to understand this.
