Call Me Crazy

Call Me Crazy

I don’t know if you’ve ever read a book that featured this crystal merchant. He had a dream he wanted to go to Meccah, and he started his business to save money to go. Years passed, and he still hadn’t fulfilled his vision, and he had become old. One day, a young boy with a dream of going to the pyramids of Egypt for a treasure passed by and asked for work. The young boy brought good business, and he took it as a good omen (like a sign). He chased this feeling. He was making more money than ever. The crystal merchant even felt successful at some point, but then the day arrived when the boy had made sufficient money for his trip to Egypt. The crystal merchant also had abundant money, but when the boy asked if he would go and fulfill his lifelong dream, the crystal merchant said no. The crystal merchant said no to his lifelong dream because he felt he would have nothing to look forward to after reaching his goal.

Do you know what’s crazy? I used to think that this crystal merchant was a dumbass. How can someone have everything in their power to fulfill their dream and still not take the risk to go for it. Even if visiting Meccah in his dreams was better than seeing it in person, why would you want to live with that wonder? But here I am, doing the same thing. Hindsight is a motherfucker. Because that shit is 20/20.

I thought I was the boy going to the pyramids for my entire life, but I’ve been acting more and more like this crystal merchant, and I didn’t pay attention.

Call me crazy, but it’s time to pack up and get going.
