The Earth Stood Still

It was just for a moment where I could feel everything stopped. I was still going on as usual, but time just seemed to freeze at that time.

All laws of physics seized to exist; the universe didn’t even seem ready for this.

You would’ve thoughts the planet aligned, maybe like one of those comets that you get to see every 60 years.

Chances were improbable of this happening, yet everything that happened until then prepared me for this very moment.

It could have happened at any moment, but somehow I missed you each time by coincidence.

One small decision on a random Tuesday caused the situation. Who would’ve thought reading that book would make me change my mind?

I could feel the Earth stop spinning right there and then. How could it not?

I felt like gravity gave up on me just for a moment. I was in the clouds just light as a feather.

The weather didn’t seem to make sense for a second. The sky didn’t know how to react.

The sun was talking to the moon all about it, how it was about to happen.

That’s when it did; it finally happened. I heard the words that would have me stuck for what felt like an eternity.

Hello.

With your perfect little smile.

That’s what made the world stop for me.
