I’ve never understood the phrase “wanting the best of both worlds.” Like, that never made sense in my head at all. How would it be possible to have a whole world in front of you, but you want to have the best from both. You have to end up making a decision and settle down only in one world, no?
Then, suddenly it happened to me. I realized that I had just been hit with the realization that there were other worlds out there, just waiting to be discovered. Imagine that. Worlds that would make you want to think about the unexpected. Worlds that would make you question everything you ever thought was right about your first. This world has given me everything, and yet the other world seems to have everything you ever imagined, and once you start doing a little research, everything about this world ultimately shows you a lot more promise than the world you’re used to has ever taught you.
So now you have a dilemma. Do you leave the planet you’re on for the promise of this other planet? Or do you wonder what would’ve happened for the rest of your life? Do you give it a chance to see if that world would be the world for you? I imagine it’s not an easy decision. If there’s anything that your current world has taught you, though, it’s that nothing significant has ever come easy. The best things in life have happened at some price.
Maybe it’s not as complicated as everyone thinks it is. Perhaps it’s not all that tough to pick and choose what you know makes you happy.
I would never compare, but I think I could understand the phrase nowadays.
