Spill The Tea

I read a quote today about how there will be points in your life when you get rattled. An analogy around these lines was used; if you were to have coffee in your cup and someone bumped into you, you would spill the coffee. If there were tea inside of the cup, you’d spill the tea. The same goes for us, and whatever it is, we feel and avoid. If we’ve been bottling up anger or frustration and the universe throws some sort of curveball at us, we will more than likely spill over some frustration.

Have you ever felt something where someone passes you up in the streets and is driving like a maniac, and it seems to fuck up your entire mood? Maybe you have an experience where the service wasn’t up to par, and it grinds your gears more than it usually would. I’ve figured out that those sorts of situations don’t make us feel some kind of way just because it usually just means we have something building up inside of us that we’ve been holding onto. Maybe you’ve been way too quiet about something for so long; you don’t even recognize that the frustration is there anymore. You start feeling numb towards the cause of your frustration or maybe to your past trauma that you just keep it moving.

We cause ourselves more damage by doing this. We may not realize it at the time, but it makes us act in a completely different way, and it forces our actions to work on auto-pilot.

I’m no expert in helping you figure shit out and fixing it. I’m working on this myself. Years of acting okay, and putting on a pretend happy face can’t be set in just a few months. This is work that doesn’t stop. Your mind and your body talk to you more often than you think, I guess you should listen more often.

If you can relate, I wish you the best of luck battling those monsters under your bed. That shit is scarier than what we imagined as kids.
