Holding Hands

Have you ever thought back to the first time you held someone’s hand?

Or maybe even just considered how good of a hand holder you are?

I have.

I think about it all the time.

It’s underrated.

Some people give good hugs (not me).

Some people are good at kissing.

Some people are even good once they reach home plate.

While I don’t want to discredit myself on those things, I think my special power is holding hands.

There’s a certain type of vulnerability about holding hands.

I think about it more than a normal person probably does. But when a baby is born, the first thing it tries to do is hang on tight to you.

You put your hand in the baby’s hand and the first thing it does is squeeze tight.

It depends on you. It needs to hang tight.

Sometimes you think to yourself, how is it possible that a baby as tiny as that one can hold your hand as hard as it does?

I think that’s what makes it so special. It’s our first instinct and here we are doing it again.

Because not many people hold it to as high of a standard as the next thing, it’s often a lost art.

Anyone can force a kiss.

Anyone can force a hug.

Anyone can even fake an orgasm.

Not too many fake the holding a hand. You’re in it for the long run with that.
