Dear Diary,

Today I had a great day.

Who would’ve thought we’d be here?

I know for sure that 20 years ago Christian wouldn’t have been able to picture this.

10 years ago Christian probably would’ve had a tough time imagining this as well.

You deserve it though.

More specifically, 10 years ago Christian deserves this.

Even more specifically, 20 years ago Christian deserves this even more.

You have everything you ever wanted.

You did everything you said you would.

You made tons of mistakes.

You failed so many times.

Each time you got right back up.

You didn’t wait for someone else to pick you back up, although that was an important lesson to learn along the way.

You didn’t wait for everyone else to start clapping for you first.

You knew what you were capable of and you finally just said, “fuck it, let’s make it happen”

You were terrified, I can remember that vividly.

You were very unsure.

But what I remember the most is how excited you were.

That excitement was something that made everything so worth it.

There were hundreds of reasons to just stay put.

There tons of reasons why everyone questioned you at first.

You built up something really good and you just kept it pushing as if it was nothing.

So much time invested and so many memories, just to take the chance to get something even greater for yourself.

The kids love to hear the story and ask me to tell them about it every chance they get.

The kids can see the results of all of that hard work you did for yourself.

They often wondered why you didn’t work on bringing them into the world, but as soon as you told them that story, they questioned it no more.

You were ready when you were supposed to be ready.

Ultimately yea, timing is a bitch.

But dammit, Christian. You were tougher than timing.

That’s what I call being a total badass.

Your legacy is all that you’ll be carrying and dammit, you’re just getting started.
