Sunrise

The day begins.
Just like it always does.
What does the sun see when it rises?
Does it also expect a new day for itself?
Is it also counting down the day until it implodes?
Does the sun even think of that?
Does it think about the moon at all?
Does it even think about us as a planet?
Does it ever think about how much we need it and in reality, it doesn’t need us?
I think the sun is a girl.
I think it knows we don’t appreciate it as much as we should, but it goes on and shines regardless of what’s going on.
It realizes that there are cloudy days where we don’t even think of it.
It can see that there are rainy days where some of us miss it and some of us wish it could stay that way.
But the sun keeps going about its day.
It rises every single morning wherever we are.
Whether we see it or not.
You can trust that it will wake you once it makes it over the hump of those mountains.
The sun will continue to do it’s thing probably long after we keep making an impact on this planet.
Shoot, it might even be the reason we don’t last on this planet.
It’s the reason we can survive, but it could also be the ticking time bomb that causes our demise.
Does the sun think of that when it rises?
Or does it just hope for something different to happen?
Does it wonder about other suns? Does it wish it could reach the other planets?
How often does it think about Saturn? Jupiter?
Maybe the sun doesn’t think about any of these things.
But maybe it should.
